The Biddeford Education Foundation will honor the Rotary Club of Biddeford Saco at its 7th Annual Pillars of Pride Dinner and Silent Auction. The event, which recognizes longtime contributors to learning, will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at The Lincoln Hotel in Biddeford.
The Rotary Club of Biddeford Saco has a longstanding partnership with the school department. From supporting students in need through their Adopt-A-Family Christmas program to investing in vocational education through the Biddeford Regional Center of Technology (BRCOT), their contributions have exceeded over half a million dollars since January 2000.
“Rotarians are movers and shakers in this community,” stated Superintendent Jeremy Ray. “These business leaders care about the youth in our community and maximize opportunities for our students in Biddeford. Their contributions are endless–from major contributions toward scholarships and the implementation of a Plumbing and Heating program to providing resources for substance use prevention. Our staff and students are fortunate to have these pillars in our community.”
Tickets are now on sale for $50.00 per person, which includes entry to the event hors d’ouevres and one drink ticket. Limited space is available, and tickets can be purchased at Eventbrite (https://bit.ly/BEFPillars2024). All proceeds support the needs of Biddeford students that fall outside of the regular school budget. Through grant monies and fundraising efforts, the Biddeford Education Foundation is able to provide food, clothing, rent relief, and teacher mini-grants to enrich students' educational experiences.
