Craft Fair

The first-ever Holiday Craft Fair hosted by the Biddeford Bridges Program was a huge success last weekend. With over 40 local crafters and vendors, delicious treats, and exciting raffle prizes, they drew hundreds of visitors and exceeded their fundraising goal of $1,000. The proceeds will support an enriching day trip to Boston for Bridges Program students, where they’ll explore the New England Aquarium, visit historic Quincy Market, and engage in activities that develop essential life skills.

“We were thrilled by the turnout, and our students were amazing hosts,” said Melissa Libby, Lead Special Education Teacher of the Bridges Program. “Being our first fundraiser of this kind, we learned a lot, and we’re already planning for next year! Vendors are excited to return, and we hope to see even more community members.”

The Bridges Program supports young adults eligible for extended educational services transition from high school to the adult world. Their goal is to enable students to achieve their highest potential by preparing them to be responsible, ethical, compassionate, and independent members of their community who lead purposeful, meaningful lives. Proceeds from the event allow students to experience and practice everyday life skills such as dining out, shopping, and maneuvering in the community.

Next year’s Holiday Craft Fair is scheduled for Saturday, November 8, 2025. Raffle winners from this year’s event included Hannah Young, who won $225 worth of oil from Willow Creek Fuel, and Darcy LaCourse, who took home a $100 gift card from Hannaford.

The Bridges Program staff extends its thanks to all the local businesses, community members, and vendors whose support will allow students to attend additional enrichment outings throughout the year.
